About Me

I'm a reporter and data journalist based in Los Angeles.

I'm a reporter with 15 years of experience writing about politics, criminal justice and foreign affairs. Until recently, I covered North and South Korea for the Los Angeles Times, where I now tell stories about local government.

I also enjoy writing code, analyzing data and building data visualizations. In 2012, I founded The Daily Viz — a digital sketchpad for creating and curating charts, maps, graphs and other data stories.
